456 Year Anniversary

On February 18, 1568, Unitarian King Sigismund of Transylvania issued the Edict of Torda, proclaiming religious freedom in the kingdom. How is this moment in European history relevant to American Unitarian Universalists today? Music by the CUF Choir, Michael Thompson, Director. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

Love at the Center

As Unitarian Universalists, we strive to live our values including justice, equity, and interdependence – we are a people of “deeds, not creeds.” Yet it is not only what we do, but how we do it that matters. Rev. Sarah and CUF folks look at how love figures in our efforts to change the world. Music by Pat York. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

Matin: The Gift of Liberating Love

Traditionally, a “matin” is a service of song and prayer. It has also been used to refer to the morning song of birds. Our version of a matin is a service of music, reflection, and blessings. Join us for meditations and music on “The Gift of Liberating Love,” our theme for February. Music by Elisa & Dan Hummer, and the CUF choir. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

The Turnaway Study

Ten years, a thousand women, and the consequences of having — or being denied — an abortion. Members of the CUF Reproductive Justice Group will lead this look at the book and study by Diana Greene Foster, PhD. Music by the CUF Choir, Michael Thompson, Director. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

Side With Love: Decriminalization

Every year, the UUA advocacy organization, Side With Love, holds its 30 Days of Love program. Rev. Sarah will present some of the resources from week one: “Safety::Decriminalization” and explore how we might use them locally. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

ZOOM ONLY, DUE TO WEATHER: MLK Sunday Service: Connecting Love and Power

Dr. King famously said, “Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love.” What and how are we centering love in our work for justice and equity? Music by Elisa and Daniel Hummer, and the CUF choir. (This service is on Zoom only.)

Matin: The Gifts of Justice and Equity
