When things around us change — and they just keep on doing that! — we need to adjust, which can be thrilling, uncomfortable, awkward, and/or transformative. As a congregation, we’re in the midst of a major change, a ministerial transition with a significant degree of uncertainty. CUF’s Emeritus Minister Bill Sasso will help us explore together what might help us adapt, over the next few months, to this time of opportunity and challenge.
CUF member Tim Hoke explores the philosophy of personal transitions and the psychological process of change, focusing on how individuals navigate shifts in their lives from one state to another. Emphasizing the internal journey of letting go of old identities and embracing new ones, often involving a “neutral zone” of uncertainty before a new beginning. Discussing acknowledging the inherent difficulty of transitions, highlighting the need for self-compassion and recognizing that growth and learning can emerge from these experiences.
