The Stories We Leave Behind

Our Faith tends to be something most of us come to later in our spiritual journey. What stories have we held onto that no longer serve us? How do we reframe our past to feed us in our Walk today? Long-time UU and new CUF member Eric Terrell will share the message. Music by CUF Choir, Michael Thompson, Director. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

Looking Back to Move Forward

What have we learned from the past that has shaped our current stories of our congregation and our faith? On this Martin Luther King, Jr. Sunday, Rev. Sarah draws from the West African concept of Sankofa to consider mistakes and successes for inclusion and equity. Music by Candy Davis and Marty Merrill. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

The Stories We Are Telling

The stories we are born and raised with – family stories, fairy tales, scripture, tv shows – are powerful vessels for understanding ourselves, our community, our world. They create, destroy, repair, and reaffirm what we think we know. Rev. Sarah and CUF folks share the stories that continue to haunt, heal, change and challenge. Music by CUF Choir, Michael Thompson, Director. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

Matin: New Year Story

UPDATE: Jan. 5 service will be ZOOM ONLY, due to possible dangerous weather. Traditionally, a “matin” is a service of song and prayer. It has also been used to refer to the morning song of birds. Our version of a matin is a service of music, reflection, and blessings. Join us for meditations and music on The Practice of Story, our theme for January. Music by Maki Ito Pardieck.
