The Greening of CUF

June 30 – “The Greening of CUF”
Come explore our Congregation’s commitment as a UUA designated Green Sanctuary and to our seventh principle. What environmental concerns went into the planning of our building over twenty years ago? What do our kitchen and our coffee have to do with living our green values? How did our prairie come about, and why? Members of the congregation and Green Team will help answer these and other questions! Music by Pat York. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

Renewed UU

Making connections to CUF’s current and future activities, Rev. Sarah shares highlights from this year’s Unitarian Universalist Association General Assembly, “Love Unites, Stories Ignite.” She’ll touch on relevant results of the business meeting, especially the vote on the new Seven Values of UUism, as well as stories of UU congregations across the country and around the world. Music by Elana Floyd-Kennett and Bob Swenson. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

Interfaith Pride Service

CUF is honored to host this joyous interfaith celebration of LGBTQ+ inclusion. Participating congregations include Church of the Good Shepherd (UCC), First Christian Church (DOC), First Presbyterian Church, First United Methodist Church, and St. Peter’s Church (UCC). Music by Gypsy Obermiller, and the Interfaith Pride Choir, directed by Michael Thompson. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

Matin: The Gift of Renewal

Traditionally, a “matin” is a service of song and prayer. It has also been used to refer to the morning song of birds. Our version of a matin is a service of music, reflection, and blessings. Join us for meditations and music on “The Gift of Renewal,” our theme for June. Music by Michael Thompson. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

Flower Communion

Our annual multigenerational Flower Communion service will focus on those CUF people and experiences that have sustained us over the past year. We’ll create a bouquet of blessings for all of those folks and moments. Whether you’re participating online or in person, please bring a flower for our bouquet, we’ll have extras if you forget. Music by the CUF Choir, Michael Thompson, Director, and by Elana Floyd-Kennett on organ. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)
