Reflections on Mothers and Mothering

Mother’s Day can bring up many different thoughts and feelings for each person.  Through stories, readings, and reflections, CUF folks will explore the theme of mothers, motherhood, and mothering from a variety of perspectives, experiences, and identities.  (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

May Matin: A Service of Music, Meditation, and Blessing

Traditionally, a “matin” is a service of song and prayer. It has also been used to refer to the morning song of birds. Our version of a matin is a service of music, reflection, and blessings. Join us for music with some of our fabulous CUF musicians and a meditation on nurturing beauty from Rev. Sarah. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

It’s All of Us

Having a mental illness or a loved one with a mental illness is something that most, perhaps all, of us will experience in our lifetimes. Sharing about these experiences can help to decrease the stigma of mental illness. Members share their personal experiences with mental illness: how they and their families were affected by it and ways they were helped in their struggles with it. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

Best Season of Our Lives

Six months ago, Rev. Sarah gave a preview of her sabbatical, and posed the question, “How can this sabbatical period give us all new insights and energy for our shared ministry?” Fresh from her time of rest and renewal, Rev. Sarah will relate some of what she learned from our time on separate paths, and look ahead as we resume our journey together. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

This Was Our Sabbatical Too

Rev. Sarah’s sabbatical was a time for her to learn, grow, and take time for rest and rejuvenation, and that will be a blessing to our congregation. This was our congregation’s sabbatical as well. We have grown, struggled, explored, and thrived. This service will be a celebration of all the ways we have grown and what we bring to Rev. Sarah, as a congregation and as individuals, in this exciting time as she returns and we bring together all we have gained. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)

April Matin:  A Service of Music, Meditation, and Blessing

Generosity Sunday

This service celebrates the generosity of this congregation as we wrap up our campaign, Widening and Deepening Our Connections.  It is a service of reflection and gratitude for all this community means to each of us. (Services are in-person and on Zoom.)
